In this episode you travel to the Berkshire countryside to investigate the mysterious hauntings at a large country mansion called Cunningham House. Only very recently has the house gained a reputation for being extremely haunted, and there has been a spate of ghostly sightings within the house and its grounds.

You must explore the house, inside and out, investigating the cause of these hauntings. Are they purely a fabrication, or is there something more sinister at work?

Music

The awesome soundtrack for the game was created by John Montoya. I was very fortunate to have John work on the soundtrack as he’s done a superb job of it and the music really fits the game well.

The tracks in the game are short loops (in order to keep files sizes down) but John has created longer tracks (~1 to 3 minutes) that are available for streaming and download.

So please show him some love.

The second instalment of The Grand Grimoire Chronicles (TGGC) is complete and coming to Armor Games very soon!

Gameplay in Episode 2 is radically different to its predecessor and it now resembles a traditional point & click game, though aims to keep a simple user-interaction through a clear Look/Interact interface.

Episode 2 sees you travel to the Berkshire countryside to investigate the mysterious hauntings at Cunningham House. Only recently has the house gained a reputation for being extremely haunted, and there has been a spate of ghostly sightings within the house and its grounds.

The sighting of a young woman on the roadside has led to a number of vehicle accidents, with the most recent incident resulting in a death. There has been some speculation that maybe the owner of your house is faking these hauntings in order to drum up business having recently turned the house into a hotel to help pay for its upkeep.

You must explore the house, inside and out, investigating the cause of these hauntings. Are they purely a fabrication, or is there something more sinister at work?

The Grand Grimoire Chronicles Episode 1 place in Kongregate’s Monthly Contest February 2019

The Grand Grimoire Chronicles Episode 1 (TGGC Ep. 1), following on from the success of its predecessor has also won one of Kongregate’s monthly contests.

In February 2019, TGGC Ep. 1 did even better, managing to make it as one of the first runner ups.

There were a few criticisms of the game, but it was all stuff that I can improve upon. These improvements will make it into The Grand Grimoire Chronicles Episode 2!

  • From the map, head to the COASTGUARD STATION
  • Head south, then west to BEACH (WEST)
  • Pickup WOODEN PLANK
  • Examine the sign to reveal OLD FORT on the map
  • Walk back to the COASTGUARD STATION and enter by walking north
  • In the ACCOMMODATION KITCHEN, examine the small table to reveal the AMUSEMENT PARK
  • Go east to enter the CLEANING CUPBOARD
  • Examine the cleaner’s trolley to reveal KEYS
  • Collect the keys and go back to COASTGUARD STATION exterior
  • Use the KEYS on the garage door to open the garage
  • Enter the GARAGE

The Strange Disappearance of Eldon Crowe is an old-school, retro 4-bit style horror-themed adventure game, (It’s a point n’ click adventure, but without all the pointing and clicking. All interaction is done purely by walking over items and up to objects).

Your story begins as a journalist investigating a number of mysterious deaths and disappearances at a remote location. You travel to a large country house in the middle of the North Wales countryside to see if you can get to the bottom of all the strange events.

As you begin to explore the house and start to discover the house’s hidden secrets, the dark and disturbing truth begins to unfold as you learn what really happened to Eldon Crowe, and what’s behind the strange events.

You must find and use items to aid your exploration of the house and its grounds. The player can only carry one item at a time, so they must pay close attention to the clues to figure out what items are needed for each puzzle. For this reason, the clues and description of the objects are quite clear to avoid the player having to just guess.
